David Gifford's Photoblog

This website is a home for my photoblog. I'm from the Shetland Islands, north of mainland Scotland, and love to photograph dramatic seascapes and wildlife.

My background is in Politics and Law, having graduated from Edinburgh University with MA(Hons), LLb, DipLP.

Back living in Shetland, I've turned my attention to the creative and business professions. I'm a Project Manager at NB Communication, Shetland's digital marketing specialists, where I work on web-related projects for a wide range of clients.

I regularly sell images for publication on request, but am not currently taking on commissions or selling prints. If you would like to use any of my photos, please drop me a line using the form below.

You can also find me online on Twitter and Google+.

My primary body is currently a Canon 1D MKIV, with 16-35/2.8L, 70-200/2.8L IS, 100/2.8 macro and 500/4.5L Canon lenses. However, most of the photos on the blog have been taken with my trusty Canon 40D.

I'm also a big fan of shorter prime lenses, including some ‘alt’ glass. In particular, I often reach for my Zuiko OM 24/2.8 and Leica Summicron R 50/2.
