Buff-breasted Sandpiper
Among the first birds I photographed in Fair Isle was this Buff-breasted Sandpiper (Tryngites subruficollis) - a vagrant from North America. I gather they breed in the open tundra of the high Arctic, and winter in the grasslands of South America.
