Da Lang Ayre
I've just finished a fantastic tourist holiday... in Shetland. I invited some friends to Shetland for a week or so of hillwalking, wildlife watching and relaxation. We packed a lot in, including sights which I and likely many Shetlanders have rarely seen.
Day one was an ambitious walk to the top of Ronas Hill and to 'Da Lang Ayre' - the strikingly beautiful 1km stretch of beach in the photo above. If you're considering taking the walk please only do so if you're well prepared and if there's an excellent weather forecast. It's a long walk and the descent to the beach is treacherous at the best of times.
