Velvet Crab al fresco
While watching this otter (Lutra lutra) diving around I was treated to the spectacle of it bringing ashore a large Velvet crab, which it proceeded to devour. It was interesting to see it tackle a Velvet crab as they are particularly lively and can give a nasty nip. I noticed though that the otter didn’t have any scars on his nose.
I’m confident this is the same otter that I saw rolling around in the snow (see previous and future posts).
