Milkwort

Photo: Milkwort

Tiny blue flowers growing amongst heather in the hills above Gulberwick.

The name milkwort comes from ancient greek. The botanist Dioscorides gave it the name polugalon, meaning ‘much milk’, believing it to ‘make milk more abundant’. (plantlife.org.uk)
