Sailing into the Past
The Swan is a restored 'Fifie' fishing boat, originally built in 1900. She was relaunched in 1996, almost exactly 96 years since she first took to the water. Today she is a familiar sight around Shetland's coast, often used for short sail training trips. Each year over 1,000 trainees from schools in Shetland, Orkney and The Western Isles climb aboard.
